Is your English ok, but not great? You might just need a bit of help with communication in everyday situations or you could be a speaker of English as a Second Language (ESOL).
Words are everywhere: from websites to bills, signs to letters, adverts to emails. Good reading skills mean that you don’t miss a thing and can go about your daily life more effectively. Clear writing skills help you get your message across and be easily understood. And if you can also listen carefully and speak confidently, you’ll soon become a skilled communicator.
Math
How good are you with numbers? Lots of people struggle working out their bank statement or checking their change in the pub. Simple DIY and cooking tasks can become really difficult if you don’t understand measurements, shapes and temperatures. If you need help brushing up on your maths, we have ways of making the whole subject much easier.
Employability
A Skills for Life & Work Literacy, Numeracy or ESOL course also looks fantastic on your CV and makes you more employable: it proves to employers that you have good standards in written and spoken English and maths, and can give you the edge over other job candidates.
Twin also runs courses that combine English or maths with a focus on specific employability skills. These include training on using computers and the internet, preparing job applications and skills linked to job sectors like retail, hospitality and construction.
