Institute of Leadership & Management NVQ 3 Management (Train to Gain)

Details

Course: Management (Train to Gain)
Qualification: Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) NVQ Level 3 in Management
4 mandatory and 3 extra units of choice
Funding: Funded by LSC through Train to Gain
A minimum of 75% funding
Benefits: Wage subsidy payments available
Structure: By arrangement with Twin and your employer
- Classroom sessions and individual tutorials
- We offer daytime, evening and weekend sessions
- From bi-monthly to monthly frequency
- Total duration could be from 6 to 8 months, for example
Location: Twin training centres across the South of England
OR
Your workplace for 10 or more learners

Who is eligible?

Age: 19+
Basic skills: Minimum standards of literacy and numeracy required
Status: Have an employment contract and National Insurance number
Be employed in a supervisory or management role or about to move into one
Not training on any other government-funded course
Qualification: No prior Level 3 qualification
Residence: Have been living in the EU for at least 3 years

What do trainees learn?

Following a free Training Needs Analysis visit at your site, we’ll devise an appropriate programme for your organisation. This will incorporate the mandatory and optional units selected.

Mandatory units

  • Manage your own resources and professional development
  • Provide leadership in your area of responsibility
  • Allocate and monitor the progress & quality of work in your area of responsibility
  • Health and Safety

A suggested programme could include:

  • Overview, Skillscan and Individual Learning Plans
  • How to manage your own resources and professional development
  • Providing leadership in your area of responsibility
  • Allocating and monitoring the progress and quality of work in your team
  • Meeting health and safety requirements relevant to your area
  • Managing a budget
  • Monitoring and solving customer service problems
  • Working with others to improve customer service

Assessment
NVQs are competence-based, so candidates should be able to demonstrate their abilities in a range of customer service-related tasks. Assessment is by observation, professional discussion and learners compiling and submitting a portfolio of evidence. Classroom sessions are typically for two hours and learners also benefit from individual tutorials.
