An under-16 football team sponsored by Twin narrowly lost on penalties in a cup final recently.
Blackheath Wanderers Football Club took part in a thrilling
Selkent League Cup Final against Junior Reds Valiants. Despite
Blackheath scoring two great goals, they couldn't find an advantage
over RV in normal time and the match finished 2-2 after 90
minutes.
Extra time came and went with no break in the deadlock, leaving
both teams to face the lottery of a penalty shoot-out.
Blackheath lost the penalty shoot-out 3-2 unfortunately, but
Manager (and Twin Business Manager) Matt Harvey still felt his team
had achieved a lot by reaching the final.
Mr Harvey said: "It would have been great if the boys could have
taken the trophy back to Blackheath, but they gave it an enormous
effort today and played so well. When a match comes to penalties
its anyone's guess who will win. On another day we might have had a
bit more luck and won the shoot-out.
"I'm so proud of all the players at the club, they have done so
well to get to the final and I just hope they will be able look
back on the occasion and remember the excitement of being in a cup
final as well as the disappointment they are feeling right now at
losing in such a dramatic way."
