Skills and Support
Read about the ways we've helped three customers on our Inspiring Families programme.
SR found work at Twin!
SR came to us with a fantastic work history and all the skills she needed to find employment in the welfare to work sector but her two-year gap in employment had really knocked her confidence. When she first met our advisor Richard, she was applying for roles well below her skill level and knockbacks from these had only compounded her worries about not getting back into work at all.
Richard was immediately very enthusiastic about her both personally and based on her C.V, quickly identifying as a great potential addition to our team. He coached her thoroughly through the interview stage, which she performed very well in and we could all see an immediate improvement in her confidence.
SR has been offered an advisor role at Twin and we have been very impressed with how readily she has slotted into the team and tackled the role.
SR says ‘‘I am very grateful that Twin gave me the opportunity to use the skills and experience that I have gained over the years and I am very excited for my new role.’’
This customer signed up with us and found work soon after
DR was referred to Twin Employment and Training from the Royal Borough of Greenwich. He was claiming employment support allowance but was very eager to get back into employment to support himself and his daughter.
DR says: ‘’I was really pleased to be involved with the Inspiring Families programme; my advisor was really helpful and understood me straight away. He informed his manager about me, who then promptly approached me about a position available within her department at Twin. It didn’t take long from signing up to the programme to getting a job! I would certainly recommend the programme to anyone that needs help to gain employment.’’
DR has been an asset to the company, with his initiative and creativity he has improved our revenue on one of our contracts.
This customer found work quickly and has become a much happier person
TI was referred from the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Due to her family circumstances, TI hadn’t worked for eight and a half years at no fault of her own. She was eager to get back to work and seized the opportunity to work with Twin to do this.
TI required her advisor to understand her current restraints with hours, as she could not work due to her children. She ideally needed an employer that allowed her to fit work hours around her children school hours.
As an individual TI is much happier, has more focus, more motivation and is not just a mum now. ‘’ I am me again, not just a mum.’’
TI says: "I was really pleased to be involved with the programme and the team were fantastic with helping me find employment in such a short time; I was always kept up-to-date with how things were going. Twin helped me find employment within the company and made sure that they were aware of what I was aiming for and what type of things I would be interested in applying for. I was also able to look into courses that might help me gain the necessary qualifications I needed to help me gain employment. I am really enjoying my new role and everyone has been so nice and made me feel welcome. I would certainly recommend the programme to anyone that needs help to gain employment or training.’’
TI has settled into her position extremely quickly. She is a fast learner and is eager to understand all aspects of the role.
