Apprentices 'have been a great asset to NHS Trust'

Apprentices 'have been a great asset to NHS Trust'

Speaking to the Bromsgrove Advertiser, Jane Sleeman, Worcestershire NHS Trust's head of workforce transformation, said that all sides have benefited from taking on enthusiastic young people.

She stated that the organisation has received talented individuals and in turn provided opportunities for them to develop successful careers.

"Our apprentices are a great asset to their teams and our thanks go to all the managers whose continued support is invaluable," Ms Sleeman added.

She made the claim after Worcestershire County Council's apprenticeship drive saw 144 young people placed in positions across the region.

Aamir Kayani, enterprise, employment and skills manager at the local authority, said it is crucial businesses in the area have access to a pool of talented candidates.

According to Semta, the engineering and technology sectors in Wales need to address skills shortages with apprenticeships.
