BIS unveils new support measures for jobseekers

A raft of new services will be rolled out by the body, which aims to improve the careers advice given to those looking to find work in London and other areas of the UK.

Commenting on the launch of the initiative, minister for further education, skills and lifelong learning John Hayes claimed that a "better system" is being constructed.

"Reforming the way that Jobcentre Plus, careers advice, colleges and other training providers and employers interact at a local level is critical to our success," he said.

Mr Hayes went on to claim that these new services would "significantly" increase jobseekers' chances of finding work.

Earlier in the month, the coalition announced a raft of new measures, which aim to make it easier for companies in the UK to offer apprenticeships to young people.
