Recruitment industry needs to attract new talent

Diane Bradbury, the managing director of Huntress, was elected as a first time REC Council member at the Annual General Meeting last month following a four-week election process that included a new online voting system.

Highlighting some of the key priorities for the industry over the coming year, Diane said: "I believe the REC can play a major role in increasing awareness and perception of careers in recruitment. In order for the industry to thrive and grow, it's imperative that we attract graduates who want to actively pursue a career in recruitment from the outset - recruitment shouldn't be the job they fall into."

Diane added: "There has never been a more important time for the REC to represent the interests of its members, protect our business interests and guide agencies as they face further industry reform and legislation.

"The UK recruitment industry is unique and raising the bar on quality standards and professionalism will ensure that it continues to evolve and thrive."
