Our Cybersecurity bootcamp lets you join an exciting new career in computing

This Programme has now ended.

If you are 19 or older, live in the West Midlands and are interested in a career in cybersecurity, we have the perfect opportunity for you. Our Cybersecurity bootcamp offers young people with no education background in computing a fast track to employment in this exciting new sector with a CompTIA security+ qualification. Whether you are unemployed and not sure what path to take or employed but unhappy with your current career trajectory, this course offers the chance for a change.

What do you get from us?

  • Course lasting 12-16 weeks
  • Digital course with an online portal
  • Easily managed part time with two hrs/day, totalling ten hrs/week.
  • Practice labs to gain hands on training and experience
  • CompTIA security examinations and qualifications
  • Interview practice for potential job openings
  • Connection with employers for roles in the cybersecurity field

Upon completion of the CompTIA accredited cybersecurity course, you will be a qualified cyber threat analyst and will receive the CompTIA security+ certification. This qualification is proof that the participants have the knowledge and skills required to leverage intelligence and threat detection techniques, analyse and interpret data. Successful candidates are also qualified to identify and address vulnerabilities, suggest preventative measures, and effectively respond to and recover from incidents.

This certification is a great launching point for a career in cybersecurity and indicates to prospective employers that you’re ready to move into an apprenticeship or a first-line support role.

What do you need to be eligible?

  • Resident of the West Midlands
  • Aged at least 19 years old
  • Computer literate with access to a computer and internet
  • Interested in computing
  • Not previously educated in computer science
  • Unemployed or employed with a salary below £23,500

The CompTIA cyber security course is entirely paid for by the West Midlands Combined Authority; provided you fulfil the requirements for the course, you don’t need to pay anything for it.
