Course Overview

The Pathway to Cyber Security Skills Bootcamp is a free, six-week course with 150 hours of practical, hands-on training to help you start a career in cyber security. You will learn the skills employers are looking for and gain a Level 3 Certificate in Cyber Security Practices. When you complete the course, you will be guaranteed a job interview in the sector.

What You’ll Learn

  • Week 1: The basics of cyber security, key terms, and why security needs to be built in from the start.
  • Week 2: Different types of cyber threats, why attacks happen, and how human actions affect security.
  • Week 3: Practical skills, including testing systems for weaknesses and adding security measures.
  • Week 4: How to plan for and respond to cyber incidents, including reporting and reviewing incidents.
  • Week 5: Laws, ethics, and global standards in cyber security.
  • Week 6: Preparing for a career, including how to apply for jobs, get ready for interviews, and plan your development.

Throughout the course, you will also improve your digital, communication, and problem-solving skills. You will receive support with CV writing, job searching, and interview preparation.
