West Midlands Service Sector Employment Programme

Are you 19+ and looking for a job, or wanting to move up from part-time / zero hours? 


It can be challenging to find work or move up in your current job if you feel underqualified, but there is support available.   

Funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority adult education budget, the Services Sector Employment programme offers you the chance to boost your employability prospects for free with skills support and help in finding and entering a job role in the services sector, finding better work or even an apprenticeship. 

Support tailored to your needs 

After an assessment of your individual circumstances adult education support will be tailored to best fit your needs and requirements. Support can include: 

  •         English language training 
  •         ESOL (English as a Second or Other Language) 
  •         Introduction to Business Administration, Customer Service, or Hospitality sector skills 
  •         CV and employability training  
  •         Workplace skills  

Once you get into employment, we can support you in gaining a level 2 qualification to ensure you have all the qualifications you need for your new role.


  • Aged 19+  
  • Live in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, or Coventry  
  • Unemployed, or under-employed, i.e. working less than 15 hours per week or on a zero hours contract
