Our Youth Development Programme focuses on getting the youth, who live in Southwark, back into employment

Getting young people onto a sustainable career path 

Aged 16-24 and looking to reach your career goals? 

Our Youth Development Programme is offered in conjunction with Southwark Works, supported by Southwark Council. 

The right advice, training and support can go a long way to help you form the connections to employers that will set you apart from the rest, and help you gain that crucial step in the right direction.

Our programme focusses on you; your needs, your circumstances, your skills, goals, hopes and dreams. You tell us what you want for your future, and we’ll help you get there.

What we offer you:

  • Professional Advice

We have been helping people achieve their goals for 25 years. At Twin, we know that trying to decide what you're going to do with your future can be daunting, which is why we this specialised Youth Development Programme. Aimed to give people just like you the help and information they need to succeed, this programme will provide you with advice, training and connections to employers. We are here to guide you; whether that is with education, training, employment opportunities or all of these.

  • Individual Learning Plan

We recognise that there is no one size fits all solution. Our programme starts with a full consultation, allowing our advisors to understand your needs, particular circumstances and needs, to get you what you want from your a career. After the discussion, we develop an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to help you progress. Your ILP is entirely personalised, and you control the outcomes.    

  • BTEC Level 1 Qualification

Without the right skills, your options can be limited. So, we offer a BTEC Level 1 qualification to help with your personal development, opening up new opportunities. This course includes: 
Professional skills certificate 
CV & employability training
Workplace skills

  •  Setting SMART targets

 Helping you reach your dream, step-by-step. By setting SMART targets, we can monitor your progress along the way to reaching your full potential. Each step in the right direction is a milestone that should be celebrated in your journey to success. 

  • Work Experience and Career Progression

If you don't know what you want to do with your future or you haven't got enough relevant experience to get the job you really want, we can arrange placements to help boost your employability. We only work with reputable companies who offer a range of positions, including work placements, tasters and traineeships.  We will work with you, not only to get you into employment but assist in your progression onto a better role.

  • 16 – 24 years old
  • Live in Southwark

And one of the following:

  • NEETS
  • Care leavers
  • JSA claimants (6+ months)
  • ESA or IS claimants
  • Lone parents
  • Individuals with mental health needs
  • Individuals with no Level 2 qualifications
  • Individuals with housing needs
